April%2008%20038-1.jpgCraniosacral Therapy is beneficial from preconception to postpartum for improving maternal and infant wellbeing. Craniosacral Therapy is safe and recommended for pregnant and postpartum women, as well as those planning to conceive, to facilitate optimal health, a gentle birth, and a quick postpartum recovery.

Craniosacral therapy assists the pregnant women along her journey into mothering through releasing restrictions in the body and pelvis to co-create an optimal birthing experience. During pregnancy, one of the primary focuses is to release restrictions in the pelvis to resolve back and hip pain and tension, and to prepare for an optimal labor and birth, including promoting optimal fetal positioning. Craniosacral bodywork assists the baby in the womb for an optimal labor, birth, and bonding.

Prenatal Craniosacral is therapeutic and relaxing. Receiving massage throughout pregnancy assists in reducing muscular strain, as well as improving emotional balance. Moms frequently experience the delight of babies responding happily to the massage in the womb, and can learn how to massage their own bellies to connect emotionally and intuitively to their child.

Prenatal Craniosacral eases low back and hip pain, optimizes fetal positioning, relieves ligament pain, improves pelvic health, relieves muscle cramps, promotes relaxation, decreases stress, and improves the labor outcome.

Postpartum Craniosacral nurtures the new mother. Postpartum bodywork enhances post-birth healing, supports postural re-education, relieves aches and discomfort, and regulates emotions.  Infants are welcome on the table with mom, or nearby with a guardian, or schedule a craniosacral session for mom and baby at the same time.

Traditional midwives have used hands-on-bodywork in holistic maternity care for centuries. Bodywork is a time-honored way of supporting women through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
