You are encouraged to take a look at my website for more information on services and workshops, as well as to read my blog - which I am frequently updating. www.MaiaHealingArts.com

This has been a busy year with births, bodywork, travel, teaching, studying, and family! I've am overjoyed with the opportunities and transformation in my life, studies, and work. A couple highlights have been completing my advanced education in Infant Craniosacral Therapy with Carol Gray, midwife, CST in Portland, Oregon during July. Then in September I traveled to Maui, Hawaii for two intensive Sacred Birthing workshops with midwife Sunni Karll - www.sacredbirthing.com. I am honored to now be joining the board of directors for the Sacred Birthing Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Sunni Karll to promote Sacred Birthing insights around the world through teaching birth workers and parents.

I am joyful to be continuing to develop my abilities to serve babies, mothers, families, individuals, and the planet in to increase abundance, prosperity, health, peace, and consciousness for all. I am so grateful to all of you for supporting the work that I do through bodywork and birthing services - my biggest teachers are the individuals I get the honor to work with everyday. Thank You!

Co-Creative Bodywork: CranioSacral Therapy for Infants, Children, & Adults

CranioSacral Therapy is exceptional bodywork that heals from the core of the body. I am accepting clients of all ages, and offer home visits for babies and postpartum mamas. My special focus is on preconception, pregnancy, infancy, and childhood - I believe 99% of babies can benefit from a couple of CranioSacral sessions. Co-Creative CranioSacral Therapy sessions also integrate Acutonics Sound Healing and Advanced Energetic Medicine to create a deep healing for the body, mind, heart, and soul.

CranioSacral Therapy is wonderful for everyone, to promote optimal craniosacral system functioning and balance, which is deeply interconnected with the musculo-skeletal system, central nervous system, hormonal functioning, digestive system, and every system of the body. Thus this work is effective for a large variety of conditions and intentions. If you like massage, you will love CranioSacral!

This gentle and profound bodywork uses very light touch to access, release, and prevent restrictions in the craniosacral system, myofascial system, and energy bodies. CranioSacral may create deep feelings of peace, balance, and health. The recipient is fully dressed in comfortable clothing and reclines on a softly padded massage table during the session, or babies may be treated in the practitioner or parents lap or arms.

Reasons for Infant & Child CranioSacral Therapy: breastfeeding challenges, poor latch, refusal to take the breast, colic, reflux, sensory or motor delays, sleep issues, digestive issues, birth trauma, long or difficult birth, surgical birth, chronic middle ear infections, learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, headaches, motor and sensory delays, neurological conditions, chronic pain, difficult mobility, genetic disorders, cerebral palsy, and more... http://www.maiahealingarts.com/infant-craniosacral/

Reasons for Pregnancy & Postpartum CranioSacral Therapy: increase emotional balance, increase immune function, increase physical comfort and balance, back, neck, or pelvic pain, sciatica, breech positioning, ligament pain, stress, anxiety, making more room for baby to improve breathing or digestive issues, past emotional or physical trauma, headaches, migraines, optimal fetal positioning, postpartum recovery, cesearean recovery, depression, and more... http://www.maiahealingarts.com/pregnancy-craniosacral/

Co-Creative Birthing: Doula Care & Consultations

I am available for Co-Creative Birthing Consultations in person, via telephone, or email. I have encountered many women and families over the years who have sought out my support during the times of preconception to postpartum for individualized consultations. Some people want the support of a doula and birth educator to help clarify their birthing plans, prepare physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, yet seek privacy during the time of birth, or live far away. Due to the need for such support, I am now offering Co-Creative Birthing Consultations individually, as well as in-addition to Birth Doula Care for local women and families in the Eugene area.

Birth Arts International Workshops

blooming%20birth.jpgI've am also teaching and developing Birth Arts International's Doula Education Programs . Birth Arts Doula workshops are unique as they integrate traditional midwifery and women's wisdom with evidence-based maternity care research and pre- and perinatal psychology. We incorporate bodywork, rebozo, acupressure, herbs, visualization, and heart-centered awareness into our comprehensive doula training that includes a weekend workshop with a home-study certification workbook.

I co-founded Birth Arts with Demetria Clark in Vermont in 2000, originally as the Green Mountain Doula Guild and then begun co-teaching this holistic birth doula training in Putney, VT. Since I moved away from Vermont in 2002, Demetria Clark transformed the training into Birth Arts and midwifed the emergence beyond Vermont to the East Coast of the US and Canada. In 2006, I returned to assist the midwifing of the organization to a national and then international level. This has been an exciting and rapidly growing program to work with!

This year I've had the honor to teach two doula workshops in Eugene, Oregon, as well as at the Juneau Family Birth Center in Juneau, Alaska, and Harbin Hot Springs Retreat Center in Middletown, California. I have more workshops in the works for 2008, including Eugene & Bend, Oregon; Olympia, Washington; and Maui, Hawaii! Check out my website for upcoming workshop listings...
